Have you considered a career in aged care?
Thanks to Australia’s ageing population and the government investing significant funding in the aged care sector, there is now a greater demand than ever for qualified care workers.
There is a wide range of roles that we are currently hiring for at Prestige, including personal carer attendants and nurses, domestic cleaners, home and garden maintenance staff, case managers, customer service team members and more. 76 per cent of Australians over 60 prefer to retire in the comfort of their own home. This means there is a growing market for in-home care and nursing, and there is an opportunity for people like you to make a difference in the community.
As an aged care or disability support worker, you can establish a successful and rewarding career. You can find fulfilment in your role as you can build 1-on-1 rapport and companionship with clients, and help make a genuine difference in the quality of someone’s life.
Working in in-home care, you can find many exciting challenges and each day is a learning day. There are lots of opportunities to exercise your creativity and problem-solving skills.
We spoke to Prestige staff member, Zoe, who shares what she enjoys most as a care worker.
She said: “I have always wanted to do something that’s in the care industry. My friend did home care work, and she absolutely loved it. I signed up for the course and never looked back.
“I get just as much from my clients as they do from me. It’s a really fulfilling job. You’ve just got to want to be with people, that’s the main thing. It’s not about you it’s about them.”
