Prestige Inhome Care is excited to announce that we are state finalists in the Telstra Best of Business Awards for Victoria.

Maria, a devoted carer at Prestige Inhome Care since 2021, has a passion for caregiving that comes from her own personal experience. Her journey as a caregiver has been marked by dedication and heartfelt connections with her clients and their families.

It’s important to shine a light on the journey of those living with Parkinson’s and the network of family and caregivers supporting them. Parkinson’s Awareness Month serves as a reminder of the strength found in community and the advancements in care that offer hope and improved quality of life. Focusing on practical advice, this discussion aims to empower families and caregivers with strategies to enhance daily living, creating a nurturing environment for loved ones affected by Parkinson’s.

Prestige Inhome Care has recently been inspired by our extraordinary client Dorothy, who created a Bucket List giving her a renewed zest for life.  With the help of her Prestige carer, Dorothy is now spending more time outdoors, exploring new places and trying new things.

Prestige Inhome Care were thrilled to be finalists in the Mornington Peninsula Business Excellence Awards 2023 and receive a Highly Commended recognition from Mornington Peninsula Business. A Highly Commended certificate acknowledges those who achieved 90% or more of the winning score!

One of Prestige Inhome Care’s biggest challenges is getting the word out that in-home care is a viable option for people facing difficulties at home. Online reviews are now being used more and more by people as a way to find information about a trusted provider.

During Active April, the Prestige Inhome Care team welcomed Dr Jim McDonald to share his knowledge on the benefits of daily exercise.

He is well known to Melbourne’s Bayside community, having founded Bluff Road Medical in Sandringham in 1987, which grew to become South East Melbourne’s largest medical practice.

To launch the Prestige Inhome Care staff volunteer day, Thea and her husband volunteered at the Disability Surfers Association (DSA) in Inverloch over the Labour Day weekend. Here, Thea shares her experience with us.

With an amazing 20 years’ experience as a carer, “people person” Joanne still loves her job.

“I love meeting new people, being able to help and care for them, and I love listening to their life stories,” Joanne says. “They really appreciate that I sit and really listen to them, and do that little bit extra with them in their home.”

The month of September is Dementia Awareness Month. From 19 – 25 September Dementia Australia also holds its annual Dementia Action Week, with this year’s focus – ‘A little support makes a big difference’ – challenging us, as a community, to not only increase our understanding of dementia but to also learn how we can make a difference in the lives of those who are impacted.
