Client & Carer Stories

It brings us so much joy to see the difference we are making in our clients’ lives! Here are some of their extraordinary stories.

Amid his 90th birthday celebrations, Prestige Inhome Care's client Ronald reflected on his well-travelled life and the path that brough him to where he is today. Ronald’s family treasure the time they spend with him, and go all out with a birthday party each year. The celebrations even include a live band, so he can enjoy a singalong. Ron, who recently turned 90, loves that his family go to extra lengths to make his day special.

The Prestige Inhome Care team acknowledges the recent passing of client Sir Donald Trescowthick, AC KBE, the respected businessman, philanthropist, and champion of Australian sports.

Maria, a devoted carer at Prestige Inhome Care since 2021, has a passion for caregiving that comes from her own personal experience. Her journey as a caregiver has been marked by dedication and heartfelt connections with her clients and their families.

Rolf, a vibrant 93 year old retired teacher and academic, has a passion for history, books, classical music and visits from his grandkids. The support of his carers allows him to pursue his studies and correspondence, which give his life purpose and define his identity. Rolf loves Bondi, so staying in his community is very important to him. He was instrumental in establishing the community theatre in Bondi (Bondi Pavilion Theatre Company).

Prestige Inhome Care has recently been inspired by our extraordinary client Dorothy, who created a Bucket List giving her a renewed zest for life.  With the help of her Prestige carer, Dorothy is now spending more time outdoors, exploring new places and trying new things.

As she marks her first anniversary with Prestige Inhome Care, Sunshine Coast carer Jacinta shares her insights into her experiences, motivations and the meaningful connections she has with her clients.

Prestige Inhome Care client, Dorothy is enjoying life to the fullest. Dorothy has created a Bucket List and with the support of her carer Melissa, the sky’s the limit! Dorothy, an NDIS client who lives with dementia, began compiling her bucket list as she approached her seventieth birthday, and she is certainly not letting anything stop her from ticking the boxes.

Jenny suffered a serious health setback resulting in a three-month hospital stay. On returning to her Sunshine Coast home, her health and physical abilities had been greatly affected, severely impacting her mobility and quality of life. Today, Jenny’s plight has completely turned around. She has resumed her hobbies, feels connected to her community, and is back among friends.

In the lead up to Aged Care Employee Day on August 7th, Prestige Inhome Care clients have sent in some lovely messages of appreciation for their carers (some have been shared below). Thank you to those who have submitted messages, we can’t wait to share them with your carer.

Sanae gives us an insight into her work and what interests her.

We are so privileged to have many wonderful carers who have had a long relationship with Prestige Inhome Care and our clients. Meet Anna, who recently clocked up an extraordinary 15 years with Prestige. Anna loves her work and after almost 30 years as a carer, her work has been a big part of her life and who she is.
